The Frosty is the signature frozen dairy dessert of Wendy's fast-food restaurants.

Product description

The dessert is a type of soft-serve ice cream. Originally sold in chocolate only, a vanilla flavored version of the dessert was introduced in July 2006 due to frequent customer requests.
  • Twisted Frosty - A mix-in dessert made with either Oreo bits or M&Ms. They are served in a 12 oz size. Guests are given a choice of either Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty dessert.

When the first Wendy's opened in 1969, chocolate was the only flavor available. The actual flavor of the original Frosty is a mixture of chocolate and vanilla. Dave Thomas thought that 100% chocolate was too overpowering a flavor when paired with a Wendy's burger and fries meal. The second Frosty flavor, vanilla, was introduced in 2006. The dessert is available in four sizes: Jr. (6 oz.), small (12 oz.), medium (16 oz.), and large (20 oz.). Frosties are served at 20 °F ± 1 ideally.

From May 2007 to July 2007, Wendy's offered customers the chance to win a Wii console, or other prizes if they bought a float. Over 800 Wii consoles and other Wii related prizes were awarded. To win, customers were required to enter a code from their cup on the Wendy's website.

Naming and trademarks

The name Frosty is a registered trademark of Wendy's International and is displayed with the "circle-R" (®) symbol in the US and Canada.
